One option the team expects to pursue is the restructuring of Tony Romo and Kyle Orton&#8217;s contracts for 2014 according to ESPN&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/espn.go.com\/blog\/dallas\/cowboys\/post\/_\/id\/4723754\/dallas-cowboys-position-breakdown-qbs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Todd Archer<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Romo is owed $13.5 million in base salary but the Cowboys could simply convert his deal to the veterans minimum and save $9 million against the cap. The same could happen with Orton who is owed $4.37 million and while a release is one option it will not save the Cowboys much against the cap.<\/p>\n<p>Currently the Cowboys are projected to be over the cap by $25 million which is laughable considering the numerous roster needs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Dallas Cowboys are in need of cap space.
