Cooley spent eight seasons with the Redskins before being released at the end of August.<\/p>\n<p>Cooley will undergo a physical on Monday and the re-signing will be announced shorty after according to the latest report from the Washington Post.<\/p>\n<p><!--\/s1--><\/p>\n<div id=\"article-side-rail\"><!--INLINE_BB AD BEGIN--><\/p>\n<div id=\"slug_inline_bb\">\u00a0Cooley declined to comment on the situation when the newspaper asked him on Sunday night saying it would be premature but that he would address it later.<\/div>\n<p><!--INLINE_BB AD END--><\/div>\n<p><!--\/article-side-rail--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had a lot of stuff I wanted to do this year and I was doing it, yards after catch and making plays and blocking,\u201d Davis said. \u201cIf I can\u2019t play for the rest of the season, that\u2019s going to [stink]. I\u2019ve just got to get better and be ready for next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Davis was hurt during the first quarter of the Redskins\u2019 27-23 defeat at MetLife Stadium. He was helped from the field by members of the team\u2019s medical staff after being injured on a passing play near the Giants\u2019 goal line.<\/p>\n<p>It is the second straight year in which Davis\u2019s season has come to a disappointing ending. He was on his way to a huge season last year, with 59 catches for 796 yards in 12 games, when he was suspended for the final four games of the season for violating the NFL\u2019s substance abuse policy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe helped me get comfortable with this team [and] this offense,\u201d Redskins rookie quarterback Robert Griffin III wrote on Twitter following the release of Cooley in August.<\/p>\n<p>Cooley was a fan favorite during his time with the Redskins.
