It will be short lived as the NFL has suspended the running back four games for violating their substance-abuse policy.<\/p>\n<p>Goodson, 26, can participate in preseason action but will miss the first four games of the regular season. Goodson did not report when the Jets opened training camp in July.<\/p>\n<p>The suspension of Goodson is due to an incident in May which he was arrested and charged with marijuana possession and the possession of a handgun.<\/p>\n<p>Given a three-year deal worth $6.9 million a few months prior to his arrest the Jets were hoping he would provide help to their backfield.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I&#8217;ve been away from the team to take care of some important personal things,&#8221; Goodson said in a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/nfl\/eye-on-football\/23336489\/jets-rb-mike-goodson-returns-suspended-four-games-by-nfl\" target=\"_blank\">statement<\/a>. &#8220;The time was helpful to me and now that I am back, I am going to do everything I can to contribute to the team. I appreciate all of the support from the Jets organization and I&#8217;m thankful to be back with my teammates.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Goodson will not be eligible to play until the Jets&#8217; game Oct. 7 in Atlanta.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mike Goodson finally arrived for the New York Jets on Monday.
