New England Patriots TE Aaron Hernandez was handcuffed, and taken into police custody this morning according to multiple sources<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ten to twelve police officers pulled up to Hernandez’s house in Attleboro, Mass around 8:45 a.m. Police knocked on the door where Hernandez looked surprised when police told him he was being taken into custody. Hernandez, who was wearing a white t-shirt and baggy shorts, was placed in handcuffs and led to a police vehicle.<\/p>\n

Hernandez’s charge has not yet been released, but previous reports<\/a> say he could be charged with “obstruction of justice.”<\/p>\n

Hernandez allegedly destroyed his cell phone and home security system in the hours following the murder of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. Surveillance video showed Hernandez and Lloyd together hours before the murder.<\/p>\n

It has been a full week since police confirmed that Hernandez has not been ruled out as a suspect<\/a>. Last Thursday, reports effaced saying that Hernandez was “directly linked to the homocide.<\/a>”<\/p>\n

Friday there were reports that an arrest warrant had been issued, but that was later found to be untrue. Also, Cytosport, the makers of Muscle Milk ended Hernandez’s endorsemen<\/a>t.<\/p>\n

Once Hernandez is arrested and<\/strong> charged, his legal team will jump into action. According to ESPN, defense attorney Jamie Sultan and Hernandez met in Hernandez’s home for about 40 minutes Tuesday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
