Devin Hester contemplated retirement after the Bears season ended and head coach Lovie Smith was fired. Later the 30-year-old suggested he could seek a trade.<\/p>\n

New head coach Marc Trestman is undecided what role Hester will play on the Bears in 2013.<\/p>\n

“Right now, he is back. He’ll go out there and compete to be our returner. What he does beyond that depends on how he performs in that first role as a returner.”<\/p>\n

General manager Phil Emery echoed those comments.<\/p>\n
