Heidi Russo says she gave Kaepernick up for adoption when she was 19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI knew I couldn\u2019t have provided my son the kind of life he deserved when I became pregnant,\u201d said Russo in an <a href=\"http:\/\/kdvr.com\/2013\/01\/22\/49ers-quarterbacks-birth-mom-lives-in-the-rockies\/?hpt=us_bn10\" target=\"_blank\">interview<\/a> with FOX31 Denver. \u201cI had him for about six weeks before putting him up for adoption, and what a blessing it was to have Teresa and Rick Kaepernick be able to step up and raise Colin.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><script src=\"http:\/\/player.ooyala.com\/player.js?embedCode=drb3ltODpBs09v-Fl-9HZ9xrZ49rEkA9&#038;height=365&#038;video_pcode=dzb3E6lOVg3GbeqCXcWqm8NkQGcl&#038;deepLinkEmbedCode=drb3ltODpBs09v-Fl-9HZ9xrZ49rEkA9&#038;width=650\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>The Kaepernicks, like Russo, lived in Milwaukee but moved to California when Colin was four.<\/p>\n<p>Russo says she is not in this for money or fame because of the success of Kapernick.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDon\u2019t get me wrong, I am not \u2018coming out\u2019 to share in any of the success Colin is having, I just want him to know I never stopped thinking about him,\u201d said Russo. \u201cFor my family, we will just be cheering for Colin just as loud as the Kaepernicks will be, come Super Bowl.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Russo says she has tried numerous times to meet Colin since he enrolled at Nevada.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The biological mother of Colin Kaepernick wants to meet the Super Bowl quarterback.
