He was replaced by Ryan Mallett two games ago but a pectoral injury to Mallett has Fitzpatrick back for more starts.<\/p>\n<p>Rookie Tom Savage continues to sit on the bench waiting for his chance and signs point to him waiting longer. At 5-6 on the season the Texans are still in the AFC playoff race &#8211; even if it is barely.<\/p>\n<p>With games against the Titans and Jaguars in the coming weeks they could climb back above .500 before facing off against the Colts and Ravens. The Texans could be in a position to need only one win in those games as they do get the Jaguars again to finish out the regular season.<\/p>\n<p>Of course if Fitzpatrick is unable to do anything this week and the Texans lose they very well could pull the plug on him and insert Savage. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Texans are expected to return the keys to the offense to veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick while they are still in playoff contention.
