After two games it&#8217;s all over.  <\/p>\n<p>The 26-year-old Mallett will miss the rest of the 2014 season with a pectoral injury. <\/p>\n<p>Mallett&#8217;s injury occurred in preface warm ups and he toughed out the game against the Bengals but produced a poor line of 21-for-45 for 189 yards and an interception. The injury explains part of his poor play. <\/p>\n<p>Headed towards free agency his chances of being an NFL starter may be over. <\/p>\n<p>Whether or not the Texans turn back to Ryan Fitzpatrick or give rookie Tom Savage a shot remains to be seen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ryan Mallett waited for three years to start in the NFL.
