Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson allegedly hit his four-year-old son with a switch leaving cuts on the legs of the boy.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred when the boy visited Peterson in Houston and was noticed once the boy returned home to his mother in Minnesota.<\/p>\n

CBS Minnesota<\/a> reports the following:<\/p>\n

The police report said the boy told the doctor Peterson had hit him with a branch from a tree.The doctor told investigators that the boy had a number of lacerations on his thighs, along with bruise-like marks on his lower back and buttocks and cuts on his hand. The police report says the doctor described some of the marks as open wounds and termed it \u201cchild abuse.\u201d Another examiner agreed, calling the cuts \u201cextensive.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The doctor who viewed the child deemed it child abuse.<\/p>\n

A grand jury seated earlier this summer decided not to charge him, but now a second new grand jury has indicted Peterson.<\/p>\n

There is no status on Peterson’s availability this weekend. The Vikings released a statement\u00a0saying they were\u00a0\u201cin the process of gathering information regarding the legal situation involving Adrian Peterson.
