New York Giants tight end Martellus Bennett may have made his best play of Sunday when he caught a fan falling from the stands. The Giants were leaving the field after soundly defeating the Green Bay Packers when Bennett attempted to give his gloves to a kid.<\/p>\n

At that time a middle-aged man leaned over the kid and fell over the protective railing and onto Bennett.<\/p>\n

“I just did what any superhero would do: Saved his life,” Bennett said. “(Shoot). I\u2019m like Scott Summers. You know who Scott Summers is? Cyclops off X-Men.”<\/p>\n

So exactly what was Bennett’s secret to catching a falling fan?<\/p>\n

“My first instinct was to step back, like, ‘Oh, (shoot),’ but I did the righteous thing \u2026 So I caught him and then and slowly tried to pull him down, but then I tripped over somebody and we all fell.”<\/p>\n

Bennett said he fell on the cameraman but was not injured in the catch or trip.<\/p>\n

“I felt like Prince, because everybody was like, ‘You OK? You OK?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, I’m fine.’ They were helping me up.”<\/p>\n

During the game against the Packers Bennett caught three passes for 44 yards.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
