\nTony Gonzalez and his trade mark touchdown celebration have left the NFL playing field.<\/p>\n

Gonzalez, 38, wrapped up a 17 year playing career last season choosing to retire. That has not stopped teams from inquiring about his status.<\/p>\n

“I’ve had teams ask me to come back and play for them,” Gonzalez said via Newsday<\/a>. “I won’t name those teams, but I’m happily retired, so I’m not even thinking about it. I’m looking forward to getting to work with these guys from CBS.”<\/p>\n

Gonzalez may be retired but the temptation of a Super Bowl ring is still there he conceded.<\/p>\n

“The temptation would be there, but I don’t know what the gain would be,” he said. “I’ve always wanted a ring. That’s been my main goal as a player over the last 15 years of my career. You’re really trying to get that ultimate goal.”<\/p>\n

Gonzalez was still playing at a high level last season when he caught 83 pases for 859 yards and eight touchdowns as a member of the Atlanta Falcons.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
