\nThe NFL Career of running back David Wilson came to an end after a diagnosis with spinal stenosis.<\/p>\n

Now Wilson has set his sights on the 2016 Rio Olympics with an eye to competing in the triple jump.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll be going back to school to get my degree and training for the Olympics,\u201d Wilson said via USA Today’s FTW<\/a>. \u201cThat\u2019s something I really want to aspire to do now. I was the national champion twice in high school junior and senior year and was an All-American in college [at Virginia Tech].\u201c<\/p>\n

Wilson’s personal best in the triple jump is 53 feet, 1 3\/4 inches, while the qualifying mark for the 2012 Olympics was about 54 feet, 6 1\/2 inches. <\/p>\n

The former New York Giants first round pick of 2012 is also expected to see some broadcasting work this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was involved in football, that\u2019s all I was thinking about was football,\u201d Wilson said. \u201cThat\u2019s not bad in my situation, because the person I am, I know I can make track. I\u2019m strong enough to know that there\u2019s more to life than that.
