Kirk Cousins may only play the first half of Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.
At 8-7 the Redskins have won the division and will host a playoff game next week at FedEx Field. With all that being said the team has little to gain by playing their starters throughout a meaningless game against a division rival in the Cowboys (4-11).
Game Preview: Cowboys and Redskins
The belief this week has been that the Redskins would only play their starters for a limited about of time with ESPN’s Adam Schefter reporting on NFL Insiders that Cousins and other members of the team may only play the first half.
Colt McCoy is listed as No. 2 on the Redskins depth chart at quarterback. The team also has Robert Griffin III on the roster.
