The Jacksonville Jaguars have claimed quarterback Jeff Tuel off waivers from the Buffalo Bills.

Tuel, 24, was placed on waivers on Friday after the Bills claimed Matt Simms. The former Washington State signal caller owes his new gig in part to the role of Doug Maarrone as the Jaguars new assistant head coach/office line coach.

The Jaguars will let Tuel compete for their third string job with Stephen Morris.

Tuel has played in two regular season games completing 26 of 59 passes for 309 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions.
