Colts linebacker Erik Walden slashed in arm by ex-girlfriend

The ex-girlfriend of Indianapolis Colts linebacker Erik Walden attacked him and a female companion on Saturday in Braselton, GA.

Walden was slashed in his arm by a knife while a woman who was with him suffered a broken arm.

According to WXIA-TV in Atlanta, Walden called 11 after he had to wrestle a gun away from Erica Palmer. A baseball bat which was wielded by Palmer was used to break the arm of Walden’s female companion, after which she ran away. She later returned and slashed Walden’s arm with a knife before again fleeing.

Palmer was tracked to a hotel where she was arrested. She is currently being held without bail on two counts of aggravated assault, family violence aggravated assault, theft by taking and first-degree burglary.

Walden was treated and released at an area hospital.

Walden has 82 tackles and nine sacks over the last two seasons with the Colts. He also has played with the Green Bay Packers, Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs over his seven-year NFL career.
