Mike Wallace gets benched, Dolphins lose finale to Jets

The Dolphins lost on Sunday in what could be the last game for head coach Joe Philbin. While he started the game wide receiver Mike Wallace was noticeably absent on the stat sheet and was spotted on the bench in the third quarter.

Wallace never returned to the field and later NFL Network’s Albert Breer reported Wallace was benched for “attitude problems.”

With Bill Lazor acting as the Dolphins offensive coordinator Wallace caught 67 passes for 862 yards and a career high 10 touchdowns.

The Dolphins could very well find more options at wide receiver but the reality is this team has more pressing matters. Jarvis Landry appears to have moved ahead of him on the depth chart however after pulling in 89 catches for 813 yards and five touchdowns.

The Dolphins missed the playoffs again this year which should spell the end for Philbin on Monday.
