Doug Martin in line to regain Buccaneers starting RB role

Doug Martin received the bulk of the first-team reps at running back this week and is in line to regain the starting job at running back for the Buccaneers.

Martin is listed as questionable with an ankle injury but is expected to start ahead of Bobby Rainey and Charles Sims.

While the Buccaneers continue to rotate names on their depth chart they have found no success in the run game. Martin has run for just 166 yards on the season with a poultry 2.9 average while finding the endzone just one time.

The Buccaneers were ready to unload Martin at the trade deadline but found no takers. He’s down to his last handful of games to show the team he can reclaim the success he had in his rookie season.
