The Indianapolis Colts have waived wide receiver Griff Whalen.
Whalen was waived in order to make room for running back Zurlon Tipton on the active roster. Used as a return man this season, Whalen’s time on the roster was over the moment the Colts signed Josh Cribbs earlier this week.
Whalen caught two passes for 23 yards this year on three targets.
Tipton will be the third man on the Colts depth chart at running back behind Trent Richardson and Dan Herron.
