In the final year of his rookie deal the New York Giants are expected to allow defensive lineman Jason Pierre-Paul to walk.

Pierre-Paul and the Giants have made no progress in contract talks.

“It is what it is,” Pierre-Paul said. “If I’m here, I’m here. If I’m not, I’m not.”

“We’ve got to wait and see,” said Pierre-Paul said via The New York Post. “I’ve been here for five years now, and there have been ups and downs. I love it here, but we’ve got to wait and see at the end of the season.”

Injuries and inconsistent play have left JPP going from 16.5 sacks in 2011 to just 12 over the last three years. Only 25 he has as much upside as anyone in the league at his position but teams are going to want him to prove his ability before signing him.
