The San Francisco 49ers signed Brandon Lloyd to a contract for the veteran minimum this offseason in an effort to see if the 33-year-old has anything in the tank.

Thus far Lloyd has fit in with the 49ers and bonded with Anquan Boldin reports NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

While Lloyd is nothing more than a depth chart filler for the 49ers right now he coul d still be a valuable part should the 49ers be beset with injures.

Lloyd sat out all of last season. He caught one pass for seven yards in the 49ers 34-0 loss to Denver on Sunday.

Lloyd caught 74 passes for 911 yards and four touchdowns during the 2012 season while a member of the New England Patriots.
