Those close to Josh Gordon are worried about the wide receivers future in the NFL.
Facing a year-long ban, sources told Cleveland.com that “they’re concerned that if he’s away from the team for a year and away from his support system, that he’ll have a tough time making it back into the NFL.”
Gordon missed four games last season but returned to lead the NFL in receiving yards and posted back to back 200 yard games late in the season.
The Browns are still deciding on a quarterback for the upcoming season with first round pick Johnny Manziel and incumbent Brian Hoyer’s success in the coming season tied directly to Gordon’s presence.
Gordon finished 2013 with 87 catches and 1..646 yards along with nine touchdowns.
