The Philadelphia Eagles have acquired running back Darren Sproles from the New Orleans Saints.
Sproles, 30, was upset this week when he found out on social media that the Saints were trying to trade him. Recently he had publicly made it known that he would prefer his release.
In the end the Saints were able to deal him to Philadelphia where he should fit into Chip Kelly’s uptempo offense quite nicely. In exchange for Sproles, the Saints netted a fifth-round draft pick in this years draft.

Sproles averaged 4.2 yards per carry on 53 runs with two touchdowns last season but his biggest asset comes in the passing game where he caught 71 passes for 604 yards and two touchdowns. He also offers a premium option in the return game.
