The Indianapolis Colts have been trying to re-sign cornerback Vontae Davis. It appears their efforts will pay off as CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora reports that the two sides will reach a deal on Monday.
All teams were free to negotiate with free agents this weekend with Tuesday being the first day that a player could sign with a new team.
Davis is believed to be have been seeking a deal worth $8 million annually, and maybe a bit more after Sam Shields big deal on Saturday. Davis will turn 25 in May and has outplayed Shields in recent years.
