Sooner or later the Miami Dolphins will release or trade offensive tackle Jonathan Martin.

Martin, 24, is under contract with the Dolphins for two more seasons but recent meetings between the Dolphins and Martin’s camp have not gone well. The Dolphins have said they would accept Martin back while the tackle’s camp believes he is better off going elsewhere.

While it’s unclear how much of a market there would be for Martin. One player who would welcome Martin onto his team is Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck. The Colts signal caller was a teammate of Martins at Stanford.

“I’d say I love Jon, we had a great time at Stanford together, still stay in touch with him regularly and I think he’s a great man,” Luck told Pro Football Talk.

Pressed if he was 100-percent sure, Luck replied “Yes.”

The Colts currently have a handful of people familiar with Martin on their roster in Coby Fleener, Griff Whalen and Delano Howell. Offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton was Stanford’s offensive coordinator during Martin’s time at the school.
