Tony Gonzalez talked about retirement at the end of last season only to return after the begging of the Atlanta Falcons.
Do not expect that to happen again this year.
Gonzalez, 38, talked at the Pro Bowl saying he would not be talked out of retirement. He talked about being “at peace.” Gonzalez is behind out Jerry Rice in career receptions. and only behind Rice and a few other elite wide receivers in touchdown catches.
It will only be a matter of time before Gonzalez ends up in Canton, and it will be well deserved after he redefined the tight end position. He’s still towards the top of his game but wants to leave on top.
