Marcus Lattimore ready for 49ers offseason program

The San Francisco 49ers and head coach Jim Harbaugh believe that running back Marcus Lattimore will be ready to compete for a job in 2014.

Lattimore missed the entire 2013 season with a knee injury.

“Nobody owes anyone a career in professional football. Your career is literally your business. But I have great faith that (Lattimore has) what it takes.” said Harbaugh via the Sacramento Bee.

Frank Gore is headed into the last year of his contract. Lattimore should see some time in the 49ers backfield this spring with snaps coming at the expense of Kendall Hunter.

Lattimore was drafted in the fourth round of the 2013 NFL draft but an ACL tear in college kept him out for the season. The same fate fell on second round pick defensive end Tank Carradine.
