It appears that Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen will return for a third season. Under Allen the Raiders have compiled back-to-back 4-12 seasons.
Allen has two years remaining on his contract with the Raiders which he signed after serving as the defensive coordinator of the Denver Broncos two-years ago.
There was some belief that Allen could be fired after his request for two-year extensions for members of his coach staff was denied during the season. Team owner Mark Davis is said to have offered Allen’s staff one-year deals which many reportedly accepted today.

The Raiders had inconsistent play on both sides of the ball in 2014. The Raiders have been expected to draft a quarterback early in the 2014 Draft but Allen’s need for wins may alter the initial starting lineup.
