The Carolina Panthers are expecting wide receiver Steve Smith to return to practice next week.
A return to practice next week would allow Smith to play in the Panthers postseason game next week.
Smith missed the Panthers season finale against Atlanta and did not practice at all this week. Smith has been doing treadmill, elliptical and underwater treadmill work reports the Charlotte Observer. Smith has not yet said he’ll be ready for the Jan. 12 playoff game.
On the season Smith caught 64 passes for 745 yards with four touchdowns.
