Carolina (11-4) earned its first playoff appearance in five years with a win over the New Orleans Saints last week but to claim the NFC South title the Panthers must get past the Atlanta Falcons. (4-11) The Falcons have little left to play for but wouldn’t mind halting the Panthers. In fact the Panthers could end up as the NFC No. 1 seed with a win and a loss by Seattle to Arizona later in the day.
