The son of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has passed away.
Peterson’s son was allegedly beaten by 27-year-old Jospeh Patterson Wednesday evening. Police reports indicate that the child suffered severe head injuries.
After news of his son’s death broke, Peterson took to twitter to thank fans and fellow NFL players for their support.

Previously Peterson had vowed to play in Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers.
