Nate Burleson targeting Week 10 return to Lions

Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson is targeting Week 10 for his return to the field. That comes a week after the Lions bye week.

That would put Burleson on the field for their Nov. 10 game against a divisional rival in the Chicago Bears.

On Wednesday Burleson was spotted going though drills without a cast on his arm.

“It was a little unexpected; I am not due back on the field yet,” Burleson said, via Detroit News. “I can run, the tennis balls help with hand-eye coordination. But on top of that, I wanted to be out there for the guys. I want to be able to lead and talk to them, even if it’s just a little bit of encouragement seeing me out there running around.”

“We’ve got to win this game and I am not going to be a ghost wandering around the facility,” he said. “I want to be seen, I want to be heard, I still want to show these guys how to approach each day in practice.”

While that is good news we can expect the pizza jokes to continue. Below are photos that Burleson posted from his wreck that resulted in his broken arm.
Of course Burleson is taking it in stride with the following comments on instagram.

I’m releasing these pix for 2 reasons: 1) I walked away from a totalled vehicle #Blessed 2) I have to hear all the pizza jokes…lol I’ll start-Yes I am the 5th Ninja Turtle. #LovePizza #LetTheJokesBegin
