Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson is targeting Week 10 for his return to the field. That comes a week after the Lions bye week.
That would put Burleson on the field for their Nov. 10 game against a divisional rival in the Chicago Bears.
On Wednesday Burleson was spotted going though drills without a cast on his arm.
“It was a little unexpected; I am not due back on the field yet,” Burleson said, via Detroit News. “I can run, the tennis balls help with hand-eye coordination. But on top of that, I wanted to be out there for the guys. I want to be able to lead and talk to them, even if it’s just a little bit of encouragement seeing me out there running around.”
“We’ve got to win this game and I am not going to be a ghost wandering around the facility,” he said. “I want to be seen, I want to be heard, I still want to show these guys how to approach each day in practice.”
