Tim Tebow is not currently on an NFL roster. While Tebow is not your traditional quarterback he does bring something to a potential employer.

Aura.

Recently the New York Jets signed David Nelson who had planned to work out with the quarterback next week. The two had previously played together at the University of Florida, winning the 2009 BCS championship game.

“I am, just because I know him,” Nelson told the New York Post, “and I know what he can bring to a team, not just from the physical aspect of on the field but what he brings off the field – that aura and the presence he has about him. Guys love being around him. Guys feed off that and he makes other people better. Even if he’s not out there calling the plays, he’s helping guys, coaching guys. To have that as a backup quarterback is extremely valuable.”

Before people get all upset about the idea of Tebow in the NFL its worth highlighting that Nelson did say backup quarterback.
