The New England Patriots are unlikely to play wide receiver Danny Amendola in Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.

“I’d be really surprised if Danny Amendola came back soon,” said Mortenson on Sportscenter. “Don’t count on it.”

Amendola has been reported to be moving around better this week but the Patriots are 3-0 and playing for the big picture. Julian Edelman should continue to get looks from Tom Brady.

How many looks there are for Edelman may be up in the air as Mortenson went on to say that the Patriots appear ready to start tight end Rob Gronkowski.

“He’s probably ready to play,” said Moretenson. “… I think they’re leaning 60-40 he’s playing this week.”

The Patriots guard their injury information better then Fort Knox so do not expect much out of them until Sunday.
