Bills sign kicker Dan Carpenter, Browns invite Billy Cundiff

Dan Carpenter was set to visit the Cleveland Browns for their vacant kicker spot on Tuesday.

Instead of visiting the Browns, Carpenter signed with the Buffalo Bills on Monday.

Carpenter, 27, played with the Miami Dolphins last year. He went to camp with the New York Jets but was cut in favor of Nick Folk.

The Bills lost rookie kicker Dustin Hopkins to an injured groin on Monday and quickly pounced on Carpenter. It is unknown if the Bills will place Hopkins on injured reserve or not.

Now that Carpenter is off the table the Browns are still in need of a option at kicker. Billy Cundiff was known to be one of the other kickers that the Browns were planning to work out on Tuesday. It is safe to assume that the Browns are in panic mode now and will attempt to find someone to kick against Cundiff.
