The Oakland Raiders had two punters on their roster Saturday. On Sunday they made the decision to cut veteran Chris Kluwe.
Oakland signed Kluwe to a one-year contract for the veterans minimum after he was released from the Minnesota Vikings in May. He lost out on the Raiders kicking gig to undrafted free agent Marquette King.
King grossed 53.6 yards and netted 45.3 on seven punts in his second preseason with the Raiders.
Kluwe’s seven preseason punts grossed 46.6 yards and netted 37.4.

On twitter Kluwe thanked the Raiders for the opportunity.
Thanks to everyone at the Raiders for the opportunity this preseason. It was a blast. @MarquetteKing‘s got a bright future with you guys!
