The San Francisco 49ers have signed wide receiver Austin Collie. Known for big plays and concussions the 27-year-old Collie would be a upgrade for an injury depleted 49ers core of receivers.
Collie appeared in just one game last season before rupturing his right patellar tendon.
Prior to signing with the 49ers, Collie worked out for the Patriots, Jets and Dolphins.
In Collie’s first two seasons in the NFL he caught a combined 15 touchdowns. He caught 54 or more passes in each of his first three seasons.
