Patriots release Aaron Hernandez following arrest


The New England Patriots wasted no time and announced that they have released tight-end, Aaron Hernandez. The announcement came shortly after his arrest Wednesday morning.

Hernandez was led away in handcuffs by 10-12 police officers early this morning. The Massachusetts State Police announced on its official Twitter account that the charges against Hernandez will not be revealed until his arraignment Wednesday at Attleboro District Court.

Hernandez remains at the center of an investigation involving the shooting death of 27-year-old acquaintance Odin Lloyd.
