The NFL has awarded Super Bowls to San Francisco and Houston.

Super Bowl XLVIII (48) will be played outdoors in MetLife Stadium in New Jersey but the climate for the newest announced Super Bowl locations will be a little warmer.

After Super Bowl XLIX is played in Arizona, in February 2015, the big game will head to San Francisco.

San Francisco will host Super Bowl L – or 50 for those of us who are not greek number gurus- in the new 49ers’ stadium. The Stadium which will be called Levi’ Stadium will host the area’s first Super Bowl since the Chicago Bears win in 1985.

After San Francisco the Super Bowl will return to Houston where New England upended Carolina in 2004.

The news means that cities such as Dallas, Indianapolis and Miami will have to wait a few more seasons to see the big game return. Miami was unable to get the appropriate public funding for upgrades to Sun Life Stadium.
