This game features two teams who can not wait for the season to end. Changes are expected at the top of the Chargers with general manager A.J. Smith and head coach Norv Turner expected to be fired at the end of the season. The Chargers have looked sloppy for much of the season and will be without running back Ryan Matthews in this one.
Tim Tebow was passed over by the Jets for the starting quarterback job. The result is two upset backup quarterbacks on a team which has fought with each other all season. There has not been as much talk about Mike Tannenbaum or Rex Ryan getting fired at seasons end but considering the fall of the Jets over the last two years expect it to start soon. The Jets offense has scored nothing (11.3 points per game) over the last three weeks but their defense is holding opponents to an average of 10 points per game during that span.
