New York Jets ready to make a quarterback change?

Is it time to play Tim Tebow, or is Greg McElroy the answer? One could only hope that Rex Ryan and the 6-8 New York Jets are ready to make a quarterback change after last nights devastating 14-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans that took the Jets out of playoff contention.

The Titans intercepted four passes by struggling Jets QB Mark Sanchez – winning for the first time in a month. Sanchez has lost five fumbles and thrown 10 interceptions while accounting for four touchdowns in the last seven games. It’s way past time for a change.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets are expected to do just that. Since the Jets no longer have anything to play for – who do they start?

The Jets have Tebow who acted as Sanchez’s backup on Monday night against the Titans or McElroy who replaced Sanchez and led the Jets to a win against Arizona on Dec. 2.

Tebow has primarily operated out of the wild cat formation and been used on special teams this season. McElroy completed 5 of 7 attempts for 27 yards passing and 5 yards rushing in his single game this season.

Either way the Jets will be better off, as they cannot possibly be any worse than Sanchez.
