Cowboys to place Josh Brent on reserve non-football injury list

The Dallas Cowboys will place Josh Brent on the reserved non-football injury list. Brent and the team attended a memorial service for Jerry Brown who died following a one-car accident in which Brent was driving. Brent has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.

The move will allow the Cowboys to clear a roster spot and will allow Brent access to the teams facility at Valley Ranch.

A source to ESPN described Brent as being emotionally unable to play. Brent and Brown had been friends since their time together at Illinois. He also had a hand in the Cowboys signing Brown to their practice squad.

The move will keep the Cowboys thin at nose tackle as Brent had stated multiple games in place of Jay Ratliff.
