New Orleans Saints at New York Giants point spread, line and odds

The New Orleans Saints (5-7) hit the road on Sunday to play at the New York Giants (7-5). Scheduled for a 4:25 p.m. EST kickoff this game will air as the Fox late game in most locations.

After a mid-season streak of wins the Saints are coming off of back-to-back losses against San Francisco and Atlanta. The Saints still have not figured it out on defense allowing 27 points per game the last two weeks. During their three game win streak they allowed just 19 points per game but two of those games came against Philadelphia and Oakland.

The Giants heaped praise onto Robert Griffin III leading up to their match-up against Washington last week. Unsurprisingly they failed to stop him late in the game, who would have thought after such kind words. The Giants have taken a different approach this week to playing the Saints with punter Steve Weatherford and others suggesting that suspended coach Sean Payton has sent messages to the team.

So what is the spread in the Saints and Giants game? The Giants are 5 point favorites against the Saints. The over/under or total points for this game is set at 51.

The Giants seem to have a habit of playing down to their competition at times. Their record is not a true story of the ability of this team. Much has been made about the New Orleans Saints and bounty-gate but their continued lack of defense really hurt them this year. Drew Brees continues to lead the third ranked passing team against a Giants team who is 22nd in the NFL.
