Chad Henne could enter 2013 at Jaguars starter

It may have been positive speaking but Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey said that Chad Henne has a chance to open 2013 as the teams starter.

Henne would need to play well for this to happen. More importantnly it seems to signal the end of Jacksonville’s ill fated experiment of Blaine Gabbert as the teams starter. Gabbert had been drafted with the 10th overall pick in the 2011 draft but has been unproductive. His recent injury to his shoulder and forearm may have ended his time in Jacksonville.

Jacksonville’s upcoming games should give Henne a good chance to prove himself worthy of being the teams stater in 2013. He threw for 354 yards and four touchdowns. Before signing with Jacksonville, Henne spent four years as a member of the Miami Dolphins.

Gabbert was placed on injured reserve earlier today.
