Chicago Bears vs. San Fransisco 49ers, odds and preview

The San Fransisco 49ers will host the Chicago Bears tonight on Monday night football. The game is scheduled to kick off at 8:30 pm EST on ESPN.

So who is favored in the Bears and 49ers match-up?

The 49ers are 4 point favorites, even with news that quarterback Alex Smith will miss the game following a concussion suffered last week. The over/under has also been moved down to 34.5 points after opening at 38 points earlier his week.

Preview

Both teams pack impressive defenses. This coupled with two backup quarterbacks would suggest we are in store for a low scoring game.

The Bears have struggled this season even with Jay Cutler and without him their offense figures to be sluggish for much of the night. Brandon Marshall’s big game ability will be saddled with the inability of Jason Campbell. The Bears best chances to score would seemingly come from special teams and their defense.

The 49ers would not have been expected to light up the scoreboard with Alex Smith. Now with an inexperienced Colin Kaepernick they will rely even more on the ground game. Fortunately for the 49ers their running attack, led by Frank Gore is the best in the NFL.

Our Bet

This game will offer plenty of defensive highlights. Had you jumped on the numbers earlier in the week the under would have been the way to go as both teams figure to go conservative tonight. We like the 49ers to win this one as Kaepernick should not get many chances to make mistakes thus keeping the Bears from scoring with their defense.
