Deion Branch has again been released by the New England Patriots. The 33-year-old receiver found sparse playing time this season catching nine passes for 80 yards.
It could mark the end of a very productive career that saw Branch as a part of two Super Bowl winning teams. Branch had been one of the Patriots final cuts during the preseason before being re-signed later.
There could be interest on the waiver wire for Branch though teams will want to know the status of his hamstring that had him on the Week 11 injury report. Should a team be interested in Branch they would have to pay the prorated amount of his salary for the final six weeks. ($326,471)
The Patriots also waived DB Malcolm Williams. New England added CB Aqib Talib and WR Greg Salas to their roster.
