The New York Post has identified 23-year-old Diane O&#8217;Meara of Torrance, CA, as the woman in the fake Manti Te&#8217;o girlfriend photos.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-497\" alt=\"mantifakegf\" src=\"http:\/\/tireball.com\/ncaafb\/files\/2013\/01\/mantifakegf.jpg\" width=\"514\" height=\"291\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tireball.com\/ncaafb\/files\/2013\/01\/mantifakegf.jpg 514w, http:\/\/tireball.com\/ncaafb\/files\/2013\/01\/mantifakegf-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 514px) 100vw, 514px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The headline seems a little late considering we have known for two days that the girl in the photo did not die but credit the paper for posting the identify, even if they failed to get any comment from O&#8217;Meara.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSomebody stole her identity,\u201d a relative, Olga Volkov, told The Post. \u201c[O\u2019Meara\u2019s family] found out about it yesterday. They were shocked.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>O\u2019Meara is said to be a former high school classmate of Ronaiah Tuiasosopo, who either duped or worked with Manti Te&#8217;o to create the hoax of a dead girlfriend.<\/p>\n<p>This is just the latest news in one really confusing story.
