New Texas AD working on ‘rivalry game’ against Texas A&M

When Texas A&M left for the SEC so too did it’s annual Thanksgiving Day rivalry game against the Texas Longhorns.

Have no fears though as new Texas athletic director Steve Patterson is working on renewing it.

“We’re working on it,” Patterson said smiling during a recent question and answer session with students, via Burnt Orange Nation. “It’s under a lot of water. We had it when I was here.”

The game will not be in its usual spot on the calendar with A&M’s agreement to play LSU that day. And obviously wanting a game and getting a game are completely different. There figures to be no shortage of obstacles in getting this one done.

Personally I could care less when the game is, as long as there is one.
