With Steve Sarkisian leaving Washington for USC the Huskies need a head coach for their upcoming bowl game.
Enter former quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo.
The 34-year-old Tuiasosopo is in his first year as the quarterbacks coach at Washington and now will take on a larger role.
“I’m humbled and so honored. It’s a great, incredible honor to lead my alma mater in a bowl game. We still have a lot to play for this season. I am excited to go out and get a ninth win” Tuiasosopo said about the opportunity, via The Seattle Times.
As a senior in 2000, Tuiasosopo led the Huskies to an 11-1 record with a win over Purdue in the Rose Bowl.
