Most early season predictions had Alabama playing for their second consecutive National title. They then survived a match-up against Georgia in the SEC title game.
Notre Dame entered Brian Kelly’s third season ascending in the rankings but few could have predicted the success they would have this season. After an early season beat down of Navy the Fighting Irish held off a close scare against Purdue before beating Michigan State and later pounding Oklahoma. Notre Dame finished the season undefeated, only Ohio State could share that distinction with them.
