The New York Knicks confirmed on Wednesday after an MRI that Tyson Chandler (Knicks Center) suffered a small non-displaced fracture of the right fibula. Chandler isn’t going to need surgery luckily so the 7-footer should be in action in 4-6 weeks according to the team.<\/p>\n

Tyson suffered the injury on Tuesday night while playing the Charlotte Bobcats. During the first quarter Tyson collided into the Bobcats star point guard Kemba Walker causing both players to fall to the ground. Carmelo Anthony rushed to the aid of Tyson and gingerly walked him back to the bench.<\/p>\n

\u00a0During last night\u2019s post game presser, Anthony stated, \u201cOf course we miss him.\u00a0 He is our anchor on our defensive end, so we miss him big time.\u201d<\/div>\n

Knicks head coach Mike Woodson explained that the team will now rely on Kenyon Martin and Amar\u2019e Stoudemire for more minutes. This is a huge loss for the Knicks as Chandler was producing 3.0 blocks and 11.3 rebounds for the team through the early stages of this season.<\/p>\n

The Knicks don\u2019t play until Friday night meaning the coaching staff has time to review the state of the team and see who will start at the Center position for the time Chandler\u2019s out.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
